Desiree M. Palomares was born on May 17, 1995. When she started gymnastics she went to a little recreational gym, called Acrobrats at age of six. When Desiree turned seven, she continued her gymnastics career at Precision Gymnastics. Desiree is currently a junior international elite gymnast, training at Charter Oak Gymnastics under coaches Beth Kline-Rybacki and Stephen Rybacki.
In 2004, Desiree competed as a level six and placed 42nd in the all-around at the Level 6 Southern California State Championships. Desiree moved up to level seven for the 2005 spring season. She finished second in the all-around at the San Diego Classic and Friendship Challenge. At the Level 7 SoCal State Championships, she finished fourth on uneven bars as well as sixth on balance beam. Desiree participated in the National TOP Testing in the fall.
She moved up to level eight in 2006. Desiree finished second in the all-around as well as on vault at the Go For It Classic. She then won the all-around titles at the AOGC Invitational and Golden State Friendship Challenge. At the SoCal States Championships, she won a bronze medal on floor exercise. There, she qualified to Level 8 Regionals, where she finished second in the all-around as well as second on vault and third on floor exercise! Later that year, Desiree made the National TOPs Team. After Desiree's 2006 season, she moved to All Olympia Gymnastics Center.
In 2007, she competed as a level nine. She won the floor exercise title at the WOGA Classic. She then won the all-around, balance beam and floor exercise titles at the AOGC Invitational. At the Level 9 State Championships, she finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise. She then competed at the Level 9 Regionals and finished 8th in the all-around and first on floor exercise. In the summer, Desiree competed at the US Challenge as a hopes elite, where she finished second overall.
Desiree began her 2008 season as a level 10 at the WOGA Classic. There, she finished seventh in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. She then placed eighth in the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. At the Level 10 SoCal State Championships, she finished seventh in the all-around. During the summer, she moved to Gym-Max to train under coaches Howie and Jenny Liang. That same year in December, Desiree successfully passed the compulsory elite testing after placing sixth in the all-around and second on uneven bars.
In February 2009, Desiree successfully passed junior international after placing eighth in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. In March, Desiree moved to Charter Oak Gymnastics to train under coaches Beth Kline-Rybacki and Stephen Rybacki. At the Long Beach Open and Level 10 SoCal State Championships, Desiree finished fifth in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars. She then finished fourth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the Level 10 Regional Championships. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals.
Desiree started her 2010 season at the San Diego Classic where she finished third in the all-around, third on uneven bars and second on balance beam. Desiree finished second in the all-around, first on uneven bars and first on floor exercise at the Level 10 SoCal State Championships. She then won the all-around title at the Level 10 Regional Championships! She also won a gold medal on uneven bars and a bronze medal on balance beam. There, she qualified to her second JO Nationals in Dallas, TX. At the beginning of May, she traveled to Dallas, TX for the JO Nationals where she finished impressive 8th in the all-around, sixth on uneven bars, first on balance beam and eighth on floor exercise.
